Majestic 12
Alleged top-secret committee of scientists and military leaders convened by President Truman in 1947 to investigate UFO crashes — known via leaked documents the FBI labeled 'completely bogus' but which remain debated.
Overview
Majestic 12 (also known as Majic 12, MJ-12, MJ XII) is the purported code name of an alleged secret committee of scientists, military leaders, and government officials formed in 1947 by an executive order by U.S. President Harry S. Truman to facilitate recovery and investigation of alien spacecraft. The existence of MJ-12 has been disputed by the FBI, which on a still-public 1988 internal memo labeled the documents 'completely bogus.' Documents allegedly leaked in 1984 to filmmaker Jaime Shandera remain the central artifact.
